With a redesigned midsole and upper, our new GEL-Venture 6 delivers excellent shock absorbing comfort, so you can take on the trail. Your tread will benefit from the rugged, one-piece outsole, featuring multi-directional lugs for confidence-inspiring traction. From above, durable synthetic material and a stitched-down toe bumper ensure great fit, protection and comfort.
Great for all day wear!
For decades I’ve been using expensive ASICS GT series running shoes. Now that I am getting old and walking instead of running, I am finding that Gel-Venture sneakers are more comfortable for all day wear and just as protective, at half the price. They have the added feature of a covering tab to protect the top of the show from wearing out in the front due to “rising big toe” issues, the major source of wear on my expensive ASICS GT2000 series shoes, which lack this feature.
Fit as Expected – Excellent Quality
These fit pretty well. I had a pair of New Balance previously that I really liked, but couldn’t find a new pair that was acceptable to replace with. The newer NB to replace my old was poorly rated due to quality. And many other NB models either had quality issues, or were far too narrow (definitely not 4E). I have a wider foot and was using 2E before, but the NB 4E’s were much too narrow (tried on numerous models). These Asics fit fine. I do have a fairly flat foot, so hoping the slight arch in these doesn’t cause an issue. It is definitely a smaller arch than many other brands. Quality looks pretty good – time will tell. I will use for walking. I could recommend, definitely for those needing wider widths.
So far I love these and they are comfortable
So far I love these and they are comfortable. I ordered the 13 4E and I think they fit well. I’ve been wearing them only a little while and I’ll see if they hold up.
These fit perfectly, but if you are new to …
These fit perfectly, but if you are new to Asics, they run small in both length and width. I order these in a half size larger than most other brands. Shoes look exactly as depicted. The Gel-Venture 6’s do not have a heavy gel presence. I use these more for daily wear and use models with more gel when I will be expecting heavier impacts.
4E apparently is the right size for me now? Shoes are awesome! Super comfortable right away, these actually fit my wide feet. I’ve been having trouble finding shoes wide enough for my feet lately. Seems like most brands are going narrower and narrower. This is my second pair of 4E Asics in a row and they are just right for me.
Great Job ASICS!
Hiking shoes that are truly wide are truly rare. Aside from heavyweight orthopedic shoes, it’s almost impossible to find an outdoor shoe that fits a wide foot properly. Merrell doesn’t have one. Brooks doesn’t have one. Ecco doesn’t have one. Nor do North Face, Columbia, Keen…the list of the companies that don’t have proper shoes for wide feet is endless. The few that do are almost always geared for road sports. Trail running and hiking is a specialty-sport and these are great for that. Great Job ASICS!
Awesome Shoes That I Will Buy Again and Again
I absolutely LOVE these as my everyday work shoes. I’m required to walk approximately 6-8 miles a day and they fit perfectly straight from the box, not “breaking in” as some shoes I’ve bought in the past. They last me about 6 months before I need to replace them, but with the mileage, they’re worth the price. They are the 3rd or 4th pair of the same style I’ve bought in row and will continue to purchase as long as they are available.
Improvement over previous version. Great value!
Improved over the previous model. The stripes originating from near the side of the ball of the foot then extending upwards toward the back of the shoe, lets call these the STRIPES. In previous models these STRIPES were made of a material and were not as flexible or forgiving as the remainder of the shoe. This could cause extra agitation that seemed unneeded on outter side of the big toe near the large knuckle joint.
