Worth the money, well built, but too wide
This is very sturdy, relatively cheap
This is very sturdy, relatively cheap, is very versatile, and is easy to put together. My only complaints are that one of the base studs was bruised/scratched from the shipping(It’s not noticeable anyway because of their black color), and that you will need a thin screwdriver to screw the bases together as you have to screw them on through these small holes that connect over the base of the stand.
Good, but only if you get one that doesn’t wobble
It works for it’s intended use, but not without some tinkering. It seems to have been an issue with a lot of people. I received my package in a timely fashion and the product inside was securely wrapped. The issue I had was with one side. it seems that the top portion, the part that has the cushion for your hand, was smaller than the bottom portion. Once inserted and screwed in it would wobble. I attempted to reinsert that portion many times to see if it would be fixed, sadly it could not be. I thought I could work through it, however the top portion would wobble and make it almost impossible to finish a dip when using weights. After I had purchased a weight belt it became apparent that this would be an issue. The solution? Some Batman duct tape. After securing it with a good amount of this duct tape, it seemed to fix it. If it were not for that, it would get full stars.
Adequate, but wanting…
For the money, the unit does the job. The tolerances leave a bit to be desired as the unit rattles loosely where the bolts attach the pieces (and yes, it’s assembled correctly) but will hold weight when used. My chief complaint is the grip padding- it’s woefully inadequate. I’m 190lbs and no matter how I change my grip, the padding just doesn’t work. Wrapping a couple towels and zip-tying them in place took the pressure down a few notches and made a world of difference. The Aussie pull-ups on this are great, but doing leg lifts, knee-ups or any other exercise like that require super-human triceps and shoulder muscles to stabilize your vertical- maybe it’ll get easier in a few weeks of dedicated use. For the price- this will perform adequately.
More than a Dip Station!
This dip station is very sturdy for the price. Now I must confess that I will never be able to dip with it. However being someone who needs help doing a lot of exercises that require me to squat, bend my knees and keep my balance, this is ideal. I use it to support me when doing exercises that most people can do without support. I can hold onto the bars and do lunges, leg lifts, arm work and anything else when I may need a help up, or to just maintain my balance.
Sturdy stand, but grips are a litte wide
This is a pretty solid bar. Putting it together was pretty easy. There are four hollow bars that are held in place by four bolts. Once assembled it does seem to be a pretty sturdy bar, however the holes drilled into the bars for the bolts didn’t all line up perfectly and weren’t all cleanly cut. This meant that some of the bolts slid right into place while some of them had to be forced through the pre-drilled holes. The dip stand also comes with four blocks that can be placed on the bottom bars for stability. I have not used those support blocks. The stand seems to be sturdy and balanced enough just resting on the floor itself.
Better Than Expected
I purchased this dip stand to add to my collection of fitness equipment in my home. When the package arrived, everything was organized and included an instruction sheet. The assembly was very simple, around 5 minute’s total. The stand is solid steel, very durable, plus easy to store in the house. Also, it does not move when performing dips and has a decent grip. The height and width of the stand are surprisingly good as I am 6 foot 200lbs. For the price, the dip stand is great. I will be recommending to friends and family.
