Heavy Duty, but could use better packaging

This is a heavy duty piece of equipment. I’ve been a member at gyms that had lesser quality equipment. This should last 10 lifetimes for the average home user. Some of the other comments are on the right track regarding the height requirements. I’m 5’10” and am using it near the short end of adjustment. I could see where someone nearing the 5’3″ mark would need to make a modification. On a positive note, if you’re 6’10” this machine probably has you covered.

Very sturdy and accommodates tall folks.

Not crazy about the fact BodySolid manufactures this in China, but this is a solid piece that appears well built. Very easy to follow instructions, and every bolt, nut, and washer is attached to two separate cardboard pieces and numbered to coincide with the printed directions. Couldn’t have been easier to follow. I didn’t have the metric wrenches, but a 3/4″ and 11/16″ wrench worked well. I’m 6-2 and 230lbs, and my wife is 5-6, and this adjusts well to accommodate each of us. No wobble at all. We like the flat foot rest over the usual round foam pieces seen on similar items. This allows us to change position and do side bends. Great addition to our workout room.

comfortable and easy to adjust

I bought this after going through physical therapy for some severe back spasms I had. As part of my release from the program, I’m responsible for continuing my maintenance plan. I selected this one because it was the same as the one at my therapy. It is easy to use and has comfortable hip pads. My dr. wrote me a formal ‘letter of medical necessity’ and I was able to expense it through my flex spending account!

Such a helpful piece of equipment. Awesome!

Cons: My only real complaint about this piece of equipment is that I wish it had an actual brace between the base and 45 degree bar instead of the small side gussets. I am 6′ 2″ and WAS 255lbs. I could certainly see the stress that I put on the unit, but my guess it that most users probably are not my size. Even with my weight the machine still held up just fine and certainly did not warp. Now that I’m down to 215lbs I notice less strain on the hyper extension machine.

Awesome!

This hyper is sturdy and stable. Seat height changes easily. Good cushions for the hips. Lifetime warranty is a major plus. Looking forward to many years of use. I have other equipment by Body-Solid going back about ten years, and they are simply the best when it comes to durable, well designed equipment for the home, and great customer service – they stand by their product. I’m a big fan, and a happy customer.

Love it

I learned about this at the physical therapist’s. Love it. It’s very heavy and a bit ungainly, but if you have the room I think it’s a great tool. I do the exercises I learned from the therapist. It doesn’t come with any suggested exercises, so you may have to do some research to figure out how it will help you.

Good looking and tough….just like you (want to be) !

Outstanding piece of equipment ! Solid, well made, and attractive too ! Very wide range of adjustability starting at about a 30″ inseam person. Excellent foot base can accommodate large feet, but also works fine for the petite. Oh, did I tell you I like this…ha…a lot!

BEST VALUE!

This is the best consumer version on a amazon I found. If you need daily back extension, pay a little more and get this. Worth every penny. I even got a discount on it for less than asking so it was a really great buy. I use it throughout the day in my home office.
