I have been wanting a Maxi Climber for a while but the price seemed to increase every time I checked my wish list. I was happy to find this climber by Conquer for $149.00 with free shipping. My climber arrived sooner than expected. The construction seems adequate and I had no issues with stability. The instructions were not very detailed but the machine was very easy to assemble. It came with the tools necessary for assembly, but I would recommend that you use your own. The flanges that attached the uprights to the base were slightly warped but once I tightened the nuts down they flattened out and fit flush onto the base. I would recommend that one check all of the bolts periodically to ensure that they remain secure. The pulley is made of nylon and the cable is plastic-coated metal. I would be interested to know if the manufacturer sells replacements in case of wear. The flip down pedals are sturdy. They are all metal with plastic covers on top. About the folding feature: The drawing in the instruction book shows a small flange to which the bottom support bar would be attached, but that flange is missing on the product. Instead there is a hole drilled through the back support bar.
Read this for a very effective method of using this machine.

I thought the very same thing when I first gog on this, there is no resistance! My wife got on, pedaled for 30 seconds, got off, “there’s no resistance.” Maybe I should send it back? No, let me give it a fair shot. I should at least take 1000 steps before making a conclusion right? Well first off I couldn’t make 1000 steps so I needed another benchmark. I took my pulse prior to starting – 76. Got on for a timed 2 minutes – pulse 127. That is a 67% increase in pulse and therefor caloric burn. My vote is this is more effective than it first seems. Assembly ? Watch the 8 minute youtube video and assembly should tale about 5 minutes. Don’t look at the directions! It will just make something that is intuitive seem impossible. There is no STEP counter with my machine. Perhaps this is how they solved the problems they were having with them. In summary, my gym has a much more expensive looking climber and i can’t tell the difference between the results. Since, simply stated, YOU are the resistance one could increase the resistance by either wearing a weighted vest or eating a lot of ice cream. Addendum (02/20/2016): I did not use this for awhile because I felt it just didn’t do it for me.

I received my Conquer Vertical Climber yesterday. It is a sturdy and stable machine that does exactly what I hoped. I was considering a different model for much more, but then I saw this and decided it was worth a shot to save over $100. I assembled it in 10 minutes, and the included manual was not necessary. I exercise daily, and this gave me an excellent workout. Regarding the review saying it is not stable, I’m an engineer and PhD mathematician, and the base is wide and the climber is very stable. I strongly recommend this product. I’ll use it for a month, and be back to write another review

I did a lot of research before choosing this brand. I really like the machine and don’t see any difference from a friend’s more expensive brand machine. The motion is different from most exercise machine’s, and I find myself “playing” on it. As someone that exercises because I have to, an exercise machine that I feel like I am playing when I use it is incredible. I imagine it will pass, but it is still the only machine that I have ever enjoyed enough to laugh while using it. Pro: – Different – Fun – Full Workout – Collapses/ Small Footprint – Cheaper than Competition – Easy to Assemble Con: – Tall, even when collapsed, it is visible. For instance, you can’t hide it when company comes.

Ships very fast, easy to put together, it’s totally stable–even on carpet, and it gives one heck of a low impact workout using all muscles. I’m incredibly happy with this machine and it stores away compactly. Definitely recommend this to all!

The product arrived fast. It was easy to build, I don’t know why there are bad reviews about it. The hardest parts were already prebuilt. It was as simple as connecting the remaining parts… The mechanical part was already done. You just need a little common sense and don’t worry about trying to read every single section of the instruction book. It was easier just glancing at the pictures. Perhaps that is what confused a lot of people, not the easiest instructions if reading it. You can’t start from the first step of the instructions because the hardest parts were already put together. It literally took me no more than 30 mins to build it and had my 10 yr old assisting by him repeating what I did to the left must be done to the right. Even he thought it was easy. Now, the equipment itself once you start using it to workout… It is different/difficult, you have to be in decent shape. I started with trying to reach 10 mins and it kicked my butt! I hope after a while I see results and can graduallt increase those minutes to 15, 20… I had to take breaks from it and do jumping jacks in between… I was sore the next day which means it is working! I love the fact that I can watch TV and be on it.
