I love that this bike fits snugly against the wall when …

I really wanted an exercise machine I could use at home for the days I don’t make it to the gym (which, I’ll admit, is most days). However, I also have a small apartment with limited floor and storage space. I love that this bike fits snugly against the wall when not in use without sacrificing comfort or sturdiness (even with my big booty) in order to be compact.

Was skeptical….

I rarely write a product review + or -, unless the product is REALLY good or REALLY poor–I’m also not the easiest consumer to impress. I am happy to write a REALLY good review for the Exerpeutic folding exercise bike. I am 6’2” @ 215 lbs with long legs and cycled quite a bit before injuries and schedules became a bit too busy, so I do know a fair amount about bikes. I thought this might be more of a disposable bike, last a couple of years at best, be too wiggly, weak mechanics..that kind of thing, but quite the contrary, I am happily surprised by the quality of the entire product. The craftsmanship of the Exerpeutic folding exercise bike is very good, the frame tubes are heavy steel with good welds, the seat is large enough to have an extended ride comfortably (probably the most comfortable stationary bike seat I’ve used including expensive gym bikes), the bike has a wide stable “footprint” when opened but is also light enough to move from room to room if needed (has wheels on the base also),the internal mechanics are very good, the bike is very quiet and comfortable with plenty of leg room for proper body mechanics as well, the computer screen readout is practical and easy to see and use. This is in not a “yeah right, what a joke” bike, it is well constructed and was well thought out! I am in no way shape or form associated with the bike company, the seller, Amazon, or any party related in any way to this product, but I am please to review that I am impressed and very pleased with this bike!

Compact, Silent, Excellent Buy

I bought this bike because I needed an exercise bike that was quiet. My old bike was not magnetic and was very loud. so loud i couldnt hear the TV or anything else over it. This bike is completely silent. i LOVE it. It folds up nicely, i can roll it out of the way, and move it back easily. I can exercise while my baby is napping without waking her u,p and my other kids can play and hear each other.

High Quality Product at a Decent Price

Let’s break down the grading here by sections. FYI, I have had the bike for about 3 months and have logged 850 miles. I am roughly 5′ 11″ and have weighed between 250lbs and 228lbs in those three months.

This is a real winner of a bike!

I have owned this bike since August 2015 and average 5 days/week at 10 miles per day. It is now January 2, 2017, and I still love my bike. I love that it folds up (I keep it in my living room space), and I can help my son with his homework while I workout at the end of my day. With 1-8 tension control a person is assured a good workout. Riding this bike 5 days/week has also increased my natural running pace. I am even riding it right now while I do this review (just 8 more miles to go)!!! This bike is well worth the money and time!

Great for interval training

 on July 11, 2017

I bought this bike in 2015 and have 2,500 miles on it. I’ve been doing 10 minute interval training on it every or every other day for the last two years. Being a cyclist, I was a bit skeptical and put-off at first by the big fat seat and even called to ask if they had a more normal size road bike seat I could buy as a replacement. They didn’t, but said they might in the future. No need now. I’ve gotten used to it and find it even comfortable. I agree with the reviewer who talked about the ergonomics. It’s not ideal and I wish the seat were more over the pedals, but they’re not and it works fine and it’s dirt cheap relative to what you get, which is a good reliable bike with a fully height adjustable seat and all the electronic controls I need. I glance at the calorie counter from time to time, but for interval training what I tend to use most is the time function – before I had this bike I was trying to use a stop watch with a portable stair stepper – this is much much better. I ride at a modest speed till I hit 2 minutes, then crank up the resistance and give it everything I’ve got for 20 seconds, then ride till it hits 4:20 and rip it again for 20 seconds, then moderately again until I get to 6:40, crank up the resistance and ride hard till it hits 7:00 (20 seconds), then moderately till it gets to 10 minutes and I’m done. Great pre-breakfast, pre-shower workout. There have been no mechanical issues since I bought it and the pedals & cranks are still running smooth. Overall, one of my best buys on Amazon, and I see they’re even cheaper now than when I bought mine two years ago.

Great Bike Even for Big and Tall

This is a really good exercycle for the price! I would give it 5 stars for sturdiness and operation, but it came out of the box with the plastic housing that covers the wheel separated at its seam and misaligned (see photo), which makes the clear plastic protective dome loose (and it can fall off). I would deduct half a star for that. Disappointing, but since my treadmill died, I needed to continue on with my exercise so I decided that these are cosmetic issues that don’t affect the bike’s operation.

Comfort at Last!!

In the hopes of helping someone, I am going to be painfully personally honest…. I am over 250lbs and have been searching for a bike that does not send searing pain up my tail bone in five minutes. Well, I found it! I love this bike and for the price I feel it has to be one of the most comfortable seats out there for bigger sized people, the seat is not like the little seats on most exercise bikes, it is 15″ at the widest and almost 11″ to the front. Recumbent bikes of course have nice seats but due to a lot of metal in my rebuilt ankle I am unable to perform the dorsiflexion and plantar flexion that a recumbent requires. So, back to the bike at hand, it was super easy to put together ( I have included pictures) of parts, accessories and finished product. It is also pretty easy to move (which I had to do a lot for all my holiday parties). I can see where someone with shorter legs might have a little stretch, I am 5’8″ with an inseam of 34″ I have the seat on the second to the lowest level but of my course my knees do not fully extend and also, some may be able to just sit near the front edge of the seat whereas I am fully on it. The seat as I have it is, approx. 31″ high from the floor and some people with mobility issues might find it difficult to mount/dismount. It is just like getting on to a mans bike (swinging your leg over) because especially for people of size, there is not a great deal of room between the seat and the frame. Don’t get me wrong, it is a comfortable enough space to ride but not step through (in my opinion) . As for the stability and durability, seems great to me, very sturdy and does not make me nervous in the least and I am looking forward to a much healthier future with a machine I can actually use. I truly hope this helps someone. ; )
