Harbinger's 5-Inch Foam Core Belt is for serious weightlifters needing back support. The Harbinger Foam Core weightlifting belt features an extra wide 5-inch closed cell foam belt with a 3-inch support strap overlay for maximum lower back and abdominal protection during heavy lifting. The flexible but lightweight foam core surrounded by abrasion-resistant nylon supports the back while maintaining muscle warmth. The heavy gauge steel roller buckle makes tensioning easy, and the plush tricot lining is comfortable against the skin. Like all Harbinger products, the 5-Inch Foam Core Weightlifting Belt comes with a 90-day manufacturer's warranty. Harbinger 5-Inch Foam Core Weightlifting Belts are available in four sizes, each designed to fit a range of waist measurements. It is important to measure correctly when selecting a weightlifting belt; do not use pant size. Measure around the waist between the hips and the ribs, starting and stopping at the belly button. Small fits 24-29 inches, Medium fits 29-33 inches, Large fits 33-37 inches, and Extra-large fits 37-42 inches. Belts are designed to be worn tightly around the natural waist for support and stabilization.

Good for beginners
This is a very good starter belt if you are newer to lifting or not using it hard. I can foresee it not lasting for years but for how I use it (probably twice a week at most) it should be with me for awhile. However, I don’t wear it for every exercise either. I use it only for my last heaviest sets of squats and deadlifts when I am already fatigued and need the support to get my last set in. So, your mileage may vary. Overall, I recommend this belt.
Provides great support and allowed me to lift a lot heavier weights in the gym!
I bought this after a solid hour of looking at reviews for this belt and many others, because I really wanted to find the perfect belt. I recommend sizing up, because I’m a Small on the chart but I ordered a Medium, which works perfectly. I think a Small wouldn’t have had enough support in the front. Before buying this, I used my friend’s thick leather lifting belt, so I wasn’t sure if this soft foam core would be enough support. But, when I lifted with it, it worked perfectly and the support was definitely enough. It allowed me to add 30 lbs to my back squat PR, and I don’t feel like I have to worry about straining my back when I’m wearing this. Wearing it allows me to focus on other aspects of my lifting, such as my breathing and form/technique.
Well built. Strong velcro. Non absorbant. Durable
This belt is very comfortable. I remember using the leather belts in high school and remember them being a little rigid and uncomfortable. This one seems to be sturdy where it needs to be but soft and flexable around the edges where it would dig into your stomach if it were rigid.
Fantastic Belt (how tall are you?)
I would recommend Harbinger belts like this one to anyone! But I thought it might be helpful if I let you be aware you should consider your height when purchasing a belt.
Hard to see how this could be any better!
I’m 75 and am a Master’s athlete in track and field. I actually specialize in jumps, but, I do do the occasional pentathlon, so I need some back support. I am super-fit; since beginning serious training 17 years ago, my (previously severe) back problems have, essentially, disappeared. Still, this belt is comfortable and supportive; I hardly notice that I’m wearing it.
measure around waist to determine size
You need to read the description well. Otherwise you’ll end up like me. I just saw that for 29″ it’s a small so I got a small. Can’t even fit it. I later found out that you actually have to measure your waist. I wear 29″ pants in most brands but my actual waist measurement is 31″. Don’t be me.. be smarter..
Great belt, fast shipping
Great belt, fast shipping. My PT wouldn’t let me go higher on squats until I got a belt. This is the one he recommend and it gave me great support when I did my first 2x body weight squat!
SEEMS WELL MADE AND GIVES GOOD SUPPORT. I PREFER VELCRO ADJUSTMENT IN ORDER TO FINE TUNE IT. WITH TYPICAL LEATHER BELTS IT CAN SOMETIMES BE HARD TO GET IT RIGHT WITHOUT MAKING NEW HOLES. SOMETHING WORTH MENTIONING- WHEN STORING AND TRANSPORTING BE SURE NOT TO FOLD IT (LEAVE IT STRAIGHT OR ROLLED UP) AS IT WILL FORM A CREASE IN IT. SHOULD HAVE A WARNING LABEL SEWN ON IT. OTHER THAN THAT IT WORKS WELL AND IS COMFORTABLE.
