The Perfect Fitness Multi-Gym is a portable gym system available in four styles. The Multi-Gym Pro, Elite, Sport, and Original can all be used as doorway pullup bars as well as for sit-ups, pushups and dips. All Perfect Fitness Multi-Gyms target arms, chest, core and back muscles with workouts that ensure maximum muscle engagement. They feature padded handles that allow for 3 grip positions to perform normal grip, close grip and hammer grip pullups. The 300 pound weight capacity makes them all safe to use with a weight vest. Multi-Gym Sport is the most compact and portable option; it stores easily and is ideal for use in smaller spaces. Multi-Gym Original and Pro feature an additional wide grip position, while the Multi-Gym Elite includes a curved, ergonomic, wide grip for maximum lat muscle engagement. Placed on the floor, all Perfect Fitness Multi-Gyms can be used for situps, pushups, and dips; padded handles provide comfort and help to ensure correct form. Multi-Gym Original, Pro and Elite feature patented door frame guards using a unique flat design with thick foam pads to help protect doorframes. All Perfect Fitness Multi-Gyms are easy to install and do not require any drilling. The Multi-Gym Sport and Multi-Gym Original securely fit door frames 27 – 35 inches wide, while the Multi-Gym Elite and Multi-Gym Pro securely fit door frames up to 33 inches wide and up to 6 inches deep. As a Marine NCO living in the barracks I have seen alot, I mean alot, of door frame pull up bars.
Perfect Multi-Gym vs Iron Gym
I spent hours reading reviews of chin-up bars, and was just about ready to buy the Iron Gym. Glad I did not. We discovered that a friend had an Iron Gym, and borrowed it to see if it fits our doors. The Iron Gym did not fit any of our doors. The reason is simple. The iron gym has no adjustments. Our walls are too thick for the Iron Gym.
An excellent multi-gym with a few mods
*December 2013 update: After 5 months of using this pull-up bar, it’s still going strong. Nothing is bent out of shape, everything is like I just bought it. The mods I mention in my original review are still going strong too.
Great, sturdy pull-up bar with extra features that set is apart from any other pull-up bar!
I have a similar pull-up bar but without the padded door trim supports. That old pull-up bar never feels sturdy in the door way, and it always pulls on the horizontal trim above the door, making me fear that it’s going to rip the trim off the door and I’ll tumble to the floor. The Perfect Fitness pull-up bar is a notch above in terms of quality feel and appearance. It’s beefier than my other pull up bar and for whatever reason, I haven’t heard so much as a creak from the horizontal door trim since using the Perfect Fitness pull-up bar. I’m 215 pounds which is just under the advertised weight limit, but like I said before, it feels very sturdy and I’m confident it could hold a lot more weight. The padded trim supports on the sides make a big difference because not only do they noticeably take care of any pressure points on the vertical trim, but they also push the bar out farther from the doorway, giving your elbows more room to spread out as you pull-up. I’m extremely satisfied with this purchase and this is the only pull-up bar I would recommend to anyone looking to do pull-ups at home!
Easy to put together
Been using this for weeks now. Easy to put together. All the holes are correctly placed. Took 15 mins to put it together because I had to unscrew and screw both bars to match with my door. Both sides have pads so the door trims don’t get scratch. Really like how it came with the tool. Made the job even easier.
Had for months, still use every day
It’s been a quarter of a year now since my boyfriend and I got the fitness multi-gym and it still is used every single day. My boyfriend absolutely loves it and his arms have gotten significantly bigger due to all the workouts. It’s so easy to do a couple pull-ups in passing, and then a couple more later. By the end of the day you’ve gotten a pretty decent workout!
An incredibly versatile, effective, and well-designed pull-up bar
I threw away my old pull-up bar when I moved to a new apartment in January. The doors and walls were too wide and deep to fit the design of the old bar, which was set and unadjustable. I resorted to pull ups at the gym and whenever I found a nice tree.
