Love this bike!

I’ve had this bike less than a week and I am loving it! I have ridden it every day. I had hip replacement surgery back in 2005 and have always had to deal with arthritis in both hips. Back then they had me on a recumbent for rehab and that’s when I knew this was the only style of exercise bike for me. (I also own a recumbent road trike). A recumbent takes the strain off your hips, knees, and lower back for an enjoyable but effective form of exercise.
Great option to get exercising for us larger folks

Been using the bike for almost two weeks now. Overall, I think it’s a great piece of equipment with just a few caveats mentioned below. I went with a recumbent bike for several reasons, but mainly because my knees can’t hold up to the stress of a treadmill yet. I’m a fairly large individual who is needing to lose weight to make sure I’m around to see my son grow up.
Works well (with caveats)
I have had the bike since August.
This bike is comfortable and easy to use
This bike is comfortable and easy to use. I bought this for my bad knees. It is really what I needed!
Great exercise investment for seniors!

I truly love this bike. I am 82 years old with degenerative arthritis in my spine and two knee replacements and found that almost any type of activity caused me pain leading to a very sedentary life style. I purchased this bike after checking out some similar ones including the older Schwinn 270 model at a sporting goods store. (The older model has a hard plastic seat not as comfortable as the padded seat on the 2017 model.) I found that for the price point, the Schwinn was sturdier and had much more capability than similar models in its class. It is exceedingly comfortable, easily adjustable for my needs, absolutely silent and about as good as it can get for providing exercise for a senior. I have been using it for at least one half hour to an hour almost every day with no discomfort or residual pain. I have managed to increase the resistance slightly from when I first started, have lost some weight and feel emotionally and physically better.

So far, I’ve been impressed with the Schwinn M17 270 Recumbent Bike. It was easy to assemble (took about an hour), and the directions were easy to read and the tools and all pieces needed were packaged clearly. The bike is well made — it’s sturdy. When in use, it is relatively quiet and very smooth. As a person of a shorter stature (5ft), I I was hoping that I would be able to reach the pedals (ha!) and that was not a problem. In fact, the seat is not even set on the lowest level for me, which means that someone even shorter can use this bike. I downloaded the app to use and keep track of my workouts, and so far so good! I’m really enjoying using this bike, and would absolutely recommend it.

This is an awesome machine for people who can’t get out and ride an actual bicycle due to health or weather. This doesn’t have one of the those big heavy bulky flywheels like on the old time bikes. The resistance is controlled by magnets, therefore it doesn’t make any noise. When im riding this indoors, my heart rate is usually at 55 percent, outdoors on an actual bicycle it’s around 75 percent, so this bike isn’t hard to do at all. a little trick for those of you who think the LCD display is bright, goto the dollar store and buy a package of cellophane in the party section. Take four pieces of that and glue them over the display. It helps tremendously during those 5 a.m. rides. If you have a tv mounted next to the ceiling then you will be able to see over the machine, otherwise you have to slant the bike to look around the enormous display. There isn’t much of a difference between the 2017 and old model, if you can get last years for 330-350 then go for it and save your money for fancy watch. lol Something else to potential buyers…. if your jean inseam is larger then 32 inches, you might want to try one of these in a store. Im a 34 and can’t get my leg straight with the seat all the way back. Good luck and stay healthy everyone.
Very Nice Unit

Please read this as 4.5 star rating. I purchased this item at a local retailer because I needed immediate possession, assembly, and usage that same day. This is a very nice machine that replaces my years old Schwinn A20. The box dimensions (inches) are: 66L x 28W x 13D. It fit in my small SUV without issue. The box weighs about 90 pounds, so it is a two person job.
Lots of features and good quality for the $

Arrived in a box that was totally beat up, torn open with easy access to the interior contents, but it was all there and undamaged! Assembly was straightforward and no parts missing or broken. The final step, when you plug it in, was very satisfying. Everything worked perfectly. This was purchased in advance of a visit from my 85 year old mother, who rides an older model every day and I don’t want her to miss a day. She pedals 4 miles daily. I will use it too, since it has Bluetooth, includes a fan that blows on your face and has some surprisingly nice speakers for your tunes. The heart rate monitor is a plus, since I never seem to get into that burn mode, and it will provide some useful feedback. Very pleased so far.
