Like inversion therapy the Stamina InLine Back Stretch Bench is a non-invasive traction that not only stretches and strengthens your back, but also the shoulders, hips, knees, and ankles–weight bearing joints. Decompression encourages your back and joints to realign and reduces pressure on nerve endings. This simple, portable bench can be used at home or at the office. Studies show that this type of therapy has numerous positive effects on the body.

I read the reviews before I bought this. This unit may or may not work for you but by no means is this a piece of junk. The frame is made of steel with welded joints. As far as the cushion being hard; yes it is but that is the point. You do not want a soft cushion that will cause your back to bent into it!

Had a pinched nerve (L5-S1) with constant pain until I spent 10 minutes a day, for about a week, on this “rack;” I opted for it because I didn’t think I could avoid nausea on an upside down device. I have been pain free (and not needing the “rack”) for over a month. Couldn’t be happier!

This Stamina Stretch Bench is the absolute best thing next to the expensive decompression machines in the chiropractors’ offices. I spent over $4000 for 30 sessions and this machine gives me the same, if not more, pull of the lower lumbar region. It works well all by itself by elongating the lower back, which is achieved by stretching the body from the angles. However, the effectiveness is greatly magnified by using the Inversion Belt with this device. The Stamina Stretch Bench and Inversion Belt puts your pelvis in the same position as the expensive machines. This allows your back to remain flat of the bench with your knees slightly bent. Your spine is being elongated by pulling your hips instead of pulling your angles. I am done with my chiropractor after purchasing these two devices.

MUCH better than inversion tables!!!!!

It came yesterday! I put it together in less than 10 minutes (SO proud of myself… didn’t even have to look at the instructions!) I used it for the first time this morning, and I only stayed on it for about 5 minutes with moderate traction applied. My sciatica was GONE for quite a while. With regular use, I am looking forward to continued relief. I tried inversion tables and I get an immediate headache, then get dizzy as you swing back to the upright position. This unit gives YOU control of how much traction you want to use. An inversion table puts you in traction under your own body weight, therefore having NO control over the traction. I don’t brag something up so quickly unless it really WORKS, and I will say this… I am on my feet on hard concrete 8 hours per day, sometimes 16 hours. I used this just before coming to work today, and 6 hours later, I FEEL GREAT and I am having NO PAIN!

Yep, it works.

I read the reviews and agree with some of the comments. However, this back stretcher is a miracle for me. I use it to travel and it allows me to work, return to the hotel, and fix the issues (hypermobile SI joints and back issues).

Real relief

I have a bulging disk in my thoracic T6-T7 pressing on my spinal chord along with schmorl’s nodes as well as scheurmanns disease. 20 years of carpentry work has had it’s challanges. I was concerned this machine would only put traction on my lumbar area but my pain forced me to buy this. I am glad I did. After the first use I was sore but after only two days I feel real relief and I look forward to the next session. Putting the arm pads in the right spot so your arms stay closer to the sides is crucial, to far out and your arms are pushed out like being crucified. I also put a folded up hand towel under my mid back to enhance the stretch. I fold it lengthwise following my spine. Putting a pillow under my knees takes a little pressure off the lower back stretch and transfers some of the pressure to my mid back where I want it. I take care to not just release a strong stretch with the lever because it snaps or jolts my spine when released rather I lift my arms one at a time up over my head then roll it off the pad and wiggle my way back to a neutral position slowly. Just after two days when I take a deep breath I don’t get a muscle spasm. I had that feeling that a band was wrapped around my chest but after getting off the machine it’s gone so I know it’s working. I have an MRI of the bulging disk. When I have an MRI again I will report back and provide photos. Thank you to the inventor for this machine, he must have been sick of suffering like us. It helps.

Overall, I’m very pleased with my purchase. As others have noted, we’re dealing with a high quality, well-built device that is carefully packaged and on top of that, I received it more quickly than any other product I’ve purchased from Amazon. For a number of years, I’ve been doing my impression of The Incredible Shrinking Man. All my life, I was 5’ 7 ½’’ tall but now am 5’ 5 ½’’ tall. I’m not happy about losing the two inches but my primary concern is an unpleasant tingling in the hip/pelvic area that has been gradually increasing. I’m guessing this is nerve related and I don’t know when/if it will subside or turn into a permanent condition. Thus the stretch bench. I had previous experience with a Stamina inverter a few years ago which I felt was producing beneficial results but it also resulted in a nosebleed and I became afraid to use it.

Very happy with my stamina in-line back stretcher

I have been using my Stamina in-line back stretcher now for a couple of weeks, and so far I’m very happy with it. It arrived in 3 days, and was very easy to assemble. I have scoliosis so hoping to straighten my back some, but mainly to keep it from getting worse. My chiropractor says it’s fine as long as I don’t over do it. So I use it for about 15 min/day, and gradually increase tension every few minutes until I reach a moderate stretch. It really does help to relax and stretch the muscles as well as the spine and my back does feel much better. It seems to stretch mainly the mid and lower back, but I did not want to go with an inversion table, so this much is good for me. I did find the underarm pads to be very uncomfortable, but I solved the problem by slipping a thick knitted ski hat over each, and wow what a difference. And I can remove them for washing when needed too, where the fitted pads can’t be washed. Also, I read earlier reviews that the tension snaps back when released, but I found that it does not, so maybe there was a change in design since then. Instead, the unit that I have, all I do is release the tension by pressing the handle and manually slide the leg extension bar back to starting position. It’s very easy to use and I’m very happy with it. Only negative point is the padded underarms are uncomfortable, but any 2 ski hats can quickly solve that problem. Definitely need a thick pair of socks & sneakers to avoid pressure on the ankles.

It’s worth considering if traction gives you relief.

This isn’t a miracle cure, so I don’t want to give anybody false hopes. It does what it says, however. It is easy to assemble, and it’s pretty rugged. I chose this over a gravity type table because I wanted something that can be slid under my bed, which this one can. (We have a relatively high bed frame, but off the top of my head, I don’t know how high.)
