Great for Money! Read to avoid Wobble!
Good Rack for the money. Buying this you need to understand you are not slamming the weight against it and dropping the bar, this a controlled placement rack. Holding weights up to 390lbs is plenty for me. I put this together in an hour not rushing. Biggest complaint I read was directions for putting it together and wobble after. Take your time putting it together. There is no step by step directions, only a picture. Build from the bottom up. The 4 bolts that go on the bottom of each bracket (2 for main post, 2 for support pieces) put the bolt end underneath and nut on top (opposite of directions picture). This way when tightening down the bolt tip does not hit the floor. Lastly, there was a lot of complaints about wobble. This comes from people not squaring the rack. DO NOT tighten the feet of each bracket until last. Put them on loose and put the rest together. Once the rest is together and snugged down, put the entire piece on a flat surface (like a concrete garage or basement). Then put weights on the ends of the feet to keep them firmly planted on the floor. I then placed a magnetic level towards the top of the rack on the post. Then tighten down the foot bolts ensuring the feet are still flat on the ground and the post is level (90 degrees from feet). Last thing is put the rubber end covers on for the feet. This will ensure no wobble.
Great For Average Lifters
The product shipped as expected. These are great for your casual lifter. The heightening bars are a little loose, but I’ve seen similar in gyms. if you wedge something between the metal it will fix it. This is not at all a big deal. I bought a 6 foot Olympic bar which works but its a close fit. I had reservations to get these stands because I had read that someone felt the stands needed to be too close together which could cause tripping or at least an obstacle. I’m 5’9″ , 175 lbs and while they are close together I still have plenty of room to step between them. You need to be paying attention anyway. The pictures will hopefully give you a good idea and don’t be intimidated by all the weight you see on the bar. I’d be comfortable putting anything less than 300 lbs on these stands.
I’m an olympic lifter and these are perfect. No complaints at all.
Absolutely the best purchase I have made for my home gym.
Perfect for garage gym
Perfect for a garage gym setup. These are light enough that they are easy to move around, but sturdy enough for the average lifter. I am 6’0 tall and have had 300lbs racked for squats with no problem and very little wobble. As long as you’re a careful lifter and understand that these won’t stand up to slamming weights around like some do at the gym, this setup will treat you well. Also, easy to assemble; recommend using a ratchet and socket
Great for home gym / easy Assembled 💪
It took me about 30 min to put it together . Not bad! Great for home gym / limited space – can use for 5 / 6/ 7 ft bar . Better than the gold gym sqaut rack that I ended up return because take up too much space and has to use 7 ft bar . I used up to 250 lb weights on this squat rack – stable ! Make sure u do tight all bults well .
… the welds and finish could have been a little better. I’m not concerned about it though
I only gave this 4 stars because some of the welds and finish could have been a little better. I’m not concerned about it though. It seems to be built pretty solid.
Worth the money!
These are very sturdy and strong. Only time will show if they stand up to wear and tear but so far I’m pleased with them. Obviously they aren’t as stable as a full squat rack but as a cheap substitute they are excellent. Everything was there in the box and went together easily. It came quickly, less than a week for sure but I don’t remember exactly how many days it took to be honest…
Good for the money
Easy to put together but make sure you have a set of socket wrenches. It’s plenty adjustable but if you plan on using this for bench press, note that the lowest setting may be too tall for some people. I’m 5’11” and my flat bench is about 18″ high, and the lowest setting for this rack is comfortable, but one more setting higher and I wouldn’t be able to reach it. I suppose in the worst case you could use the safety spotters to hold the bar, but I wouldn’t recommend it. The bar tends to roll forward, making the rack front-heavy and easy to tip over. If you plan on using it for incline bench press, you should be fine.
Good for the money. It does its job.
I was very impressed how heavy the box is. After assembling it and using it some, I was pretty satisfied. The only thing though is that the vertical posts can slightly wiggle side to side parallel to the two horizontal posts. It wiggles a little side to side but not that bad. I really like the safety catch being there. It just makes me feel secured thinking that if I need it that it would be there.
Just what I needed!
The picture doesn’t do this any favors. I bought this thinking it would be good enough for what I needed at an inexpensive price. This is exactly what I needed. Unobtrusive, movable and sturdy.
