Great compact sat monitor. I use this for my son who has asthma and prone to upper respiratory infections. I am an RN and have compared it to calibrated hospital equipment and this monitor is spot on. Great must have item for my personal use.
Warm your fingers?

I do not know why but I could not get the pulse oximeter to work so I tried to read the user manual in case I did something wrong. One of the recommendations was to ask me to rub my fingers to warm it up and hold and behold, the pulse oximeter starts working. This is funny as hell to me. There is a genie staying in the pulse oximeter? Can I wish for something else other than for the pulse oximeter to work?

My 80 yr old Mom had a fall recently and suffered a fracture to her left hip. She was recently released from assisted care and has been receiving home health care. The last 2 weeks her blood oxygen has been erratic when tested by her home health providers so I thought it would be great for her to know her readings (as well as my Dad as he is already on oxygen). My Mom and Dad both have diabetes and chronic kidney disease so I felt it important for them to have a monitoring device for their oxygen level. I found and ordered this tester which was delivered within a couple of days of my order. It came with batteries and a handy ribbon which I was quickly able to assemble and turn over to my parents for their immediate use. The readings are large and easily read and the accompanying booklet advises the best way to obtain an accurate reading. Such a comfort to have available.
Excellent pulse oximeter with pulse rhythm as well for verification of information!!! Reliable tool for home use 🙂

Shows heart rate rhythm… oxygen rate… and heart rate itself as well.. takes 2 AAA batteries included and has a lanyard if you want that on it also… easily fits in a shirt or pants pocket though also! Very useful tool if you are tracking heart rate and/or oxygen levels… the rhythm lets you know it is accurate or what is actually making it to the finger you are clipping this too.. don’t think it would work right on other appendages but works well on a finger or thumb here. Would definitely buy again! Easy to read numbers help us track oxygen rate and verify with heart rate in the night too!

I’m a physician and use this at work so that I can check a patient’s oxygen when I see them, adjust the oxygen, and then have it checked again 20 minutes later by respiratory therapy. I’ve checked it a number of times against the equipment that respiratory therapy carries, and it has read out the same value. The bar that shows the pulse is very clear so you have no question whether it is picking up the pulse reliably or not (cold or wiggling fingers are a challenge for all pulse oximeters). It came with a silicone cover to help protect it and a cord to hang around your neck if you so choose. It’s compact enough that I just slip it in my pocket. The battery indicator alerts you when the battery is getting low.
Top of the line

This review is for the Acc U Rate SM-310 (430-DL) oximeter. I got this for my daughter with COPD. She has been using another brand, which has been very reliable, but she really likes this one much better. This one reads faster, and also reads heart rate, something her old one didn’t do. The display can be rotated, with button push, for more comfortable view. Also displays a running cardio graph with each heart beat. The display is very easy to see and read. The blue readout just jumps at you. Seems to be as accurate as any she has used. We like that it has a silicone case that stays on the unit to protect the unit if you should drop it. Also comes with a carry/storage case with wrist strap and belt loop. It requires 2 AAA batteries to operate, which are included. We like the fact that the unit turns itself off when removed from finger. Unit should run for months since you won’t be leaving it on accidentally. This unit reads better in bright light than older units. It comes with a good instruction book. Tip; warm hands and rest hand on solid object before use for faster, more accurate readings. Very easy, high quality unit that should last a very long time. Read reviews selectively, as different unit reviews are grouped together. If the review doesn’t state which unit, you don’t really know what you are reading about. Acc U Rate is top of the line. I will, and do, recommend this unit and brand.
Very accurrate & easy to use…highly recommend

I bought this for my 80 yr old father who had recently been in the hospital with sudden, unexplained breathing issues and was released with oxygen that he was to use “As Needed”. He expressed concern as to when he thought the oxygen was REALLY needed, other than when he just felt a shortness of breath. I bought him the AccURate meter because it had high ratings, was priced about the middle of the road, and was reported as easy to use… My father will not “fuss with gadgets” so I was happy to hear that he was satisfied with the ease of use and the clear readout of the device; He was also better able to guage when he needed to administer the oxygen, and found that it was much less than he thought… the shortness of breath would scare him a little and cause some anxiety which only made it worse. After monitoring his actual oxygen levels, and seeing that they were usually within the normal range, he had much less anxiety. Was well woth the price… don’t buy a model based solely on price: … this one was very accurate, easy to read and use, and gave him (& us!) peace of mind. (I did not give a 5-star rating ONLY BECAUSE I didn’t use it personally and am reporting my father’s level of satisfaction).
