Customer Reviews

Absolutely brutal.

Absolutely brutal. I’m male, 48 years old, 5′ 7″ and 165. Fit and long time lifter. I bought the 40lb version to get more mileage out of calisthenics type work. I use it for burpees, pushups, squats, kettlebell swings, jumping, and general walking around. Tried it for the heavy bag but it I was just slow. Pistol squats are impossible (I can do 20 in a row without the vest).

Finally figured how to assembled

Let me first begin by saying Youtube would probably be your best friend for assembling this, because instructions are nonexistent. My biggest grip with this product would be that it didn’t come with any INSTRUCTIONS. Non the less I found a way to put it together and change my rating from 2 to 4 stars. Just using this primarily for pull-ups, push-ups, dips, and planks. Wouldn’t recommend running with weighted vest because of injuries associated with it.

A vest that defintiely works for short/small people! (5’6" 120lbs)

My story – I usually don’t write reviews but I noticed a lot of reviews for vests are negative for some of the shorter and smaller people like myself, so I decided to write this review to let those people know that this is the vest for them and most likely anyone. Due to the expensive nature of gyms (and weights in general)and wanting to go for a more “natural” workout, my routine consisted of non-weight workouts(push ups, pull ups, squats, dips, step ups, etc.) exclusively. After a few years I found that I had hit a wall with the amount of reps for any given workout to the point where it just felt like cardio despite some high numbers. Not wanting to abandon my routines (nor a large sum of money from my wallet) I decided to go for something that would add some more resistance to my workouts and therefore a few more pounds in muscle mass to my body. I originally thought about getting the 60 lbs vest but I had to remind myself that 40 lbs is 1/3 my current weight and should be more than enough for my workouts in the long run. So far this was a good decision.

Exactly what I needed

I have been walking the dogs with two 10 lb DBs in a back pack; hard on the neck and shoulders. I lost 50 lbs over the last year so 40 lb seemed a reasonable weight. It was on the steps when I came home from the gym; I set it up 20 lbs [instructions were horrible as others noted] and took off with the dogs. The distribution of weight was excellent. I was tired from a heavy duty workout, and the vest seemed very unobtrusive and comfortable over a sweat shirt. No slipping or sliding as with a back pack. I am a 66 YO female power lifter; I have added cross fit moves recently and this vest will help me improve my performance in the gym and slow my pace for the older Pekingese and Mastiff. I recommend it for the added training.

Tough, much tougher than me, in fact.

I do love it, but believe it may be trying to kill me. Those numbers don’t really sound that heavy until you heave this monster up on your shoulders. Well made and easy to adjust weights in 4 pound increments. Delivery was faster than promised. A pleasing transaction, except for the part where I have to use it and it wins.

Adjustable 80 lbs Vest is Great for Walking

The 80lbs ZFO Sports vest has great quality. Top pocket (with velcro closing) is convenient for keys and cell phone. There is a bottle strap on the belt. Total weight can be adjusted, up to 80 lbs. Vest comes with 20 weight bags (about 2 x 8 inches in size each bag). Vest has 10 compartments in the front and 10 compartments in the back to load weight bags. Each bag has estimated weight of 3.8 lbs. The vest without weights is fairly light and flexible.
